Does Early Blooms Forecast Return Of Winter?

Seems like the last five years we have spring, summer later. But spring puts in an early appearance and then backs off and puts in another appearance weeks or months later.

The native grasses are returning and with the rain/snow leaving everyone is spending more time in the pasture.

The Chicklets from last year are contributing to the current increase in eggs.

And in the last week the daffodils someone planted by the pump enclosure have popped up.

But does this mean we will have a tease of Spring and then a recess back to rain, freezes and winter ?

What is going on at your homestead?

That's nice to see some shoots coming up. Still very cold here and under a blanket of snow. -Jenn

Not to much going on here, except snow and rain. Were suppose to be in the middle of a north easter'. Tomorrow fifty to sixty mile an hour winds. Do you use the wool from your sheep? They look pretty content out there. Stay safe!

We're still experiencing our non-winter here. Very little snow on the ground (lots of ice though, if anyone cares!) and for the most part, higher temps than is usual for us. I can't remember a year when we've had so little snow. On the other hand, it's kinda nice to not have to spend the majority of each day shoveling or plowing the white stuff. Normally quite a few snowmobilers come to this area to experience the woods full of miles and miles of trails. The word is that there's a lot of bare ground (and rocks!) because of the few who have tried to enjoy the sport . . . but without enough of a base of snow.

I never trust March. Ever. I have been cruelly treated by the month every single year. We can't seem to get rid of the ice and snow this year - we've had some gloriously warm, sunny days, but we are back to frigid nights. I'll just ignore it and start paying attention in April.
