Let It SNOW!!

Woke up to 10 to 12 inches of snow on my 42 Acres of Paradise today. We got slammed even on the valley floor they got a good amount. It has slowed Shasta and parts of Tehama county to a crawl. Courts and schools closed. I can't leave my property as the plows that were so diligent in 2013 with the "Arctic Freeze" of three weeks are busier at lower elevations.

I hate to show my ignorance, but is this snowfall quite unusual for you?

Nope.

We get snow of some sort every year. And in 2013 we got a three week Artic Freeze that made this look like a cake walk.

What is unusual is the impact on Redding and the rest of the valley.

Lovely photos (she says from the comfort of her place by the woodstove.) But enough is enough and hopefully you won't get more. Is a warming trend on it's way?

If it's going to snow, let it snow enough that you can't get out. That's my motto and I'm sticking to it! Sure looks purdy, though. I'm sure you have enough woolens to keep you warm...?

Such a winter wonderland! so pretty!Didn't realize your area got so much snow. Do you mind not being able to get out until they plow? There seems to be a lot of area they have to plow, That's such wide open country. Gosh, take care!!

Well it supposed to clear up this weekend but we will see. The weird thing is it hasn’t been super cold.

Highs in the thirties and forties. Lows in low thirties. My pump didn’t freeze. The snow is very soft lots of water in there. Good for the farmers in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys. That is if the political types don’t flush it out the Delta in Stockton to the pacific.

I am!

Actually snow was less and road got plowed. Ran errands that couldn’t be done on Wednesday.

Yes woolens and if not quite enough adult beverages to warm my blood. A winter time staple is Irish Whiskey in hot chocolate.

It was nice to not have to show up on Wednesday. And my truck has all terrain tires . So if there isn’t a ton of snow I could manage an excursion.

Thanks for the well wishes!
