It's been such a long, hard struggle. I sometimes wonder if all the horrible bigotry and racism will ever end. There's absolutely no reason for it. People are people, no color made better than the other. It's like saying all red-headed people or all brown-eyed people are not as good as the others. Such senseless negativity that's been taught and carried down generation to generation. When will we learn better?

When our lessons have been learned? When He feels the time has come and is done?

I wish I had simple answers for you but I don’t. I think what intrigues me the most about people’s response is this is horrible this is awful this is never happened before what is going on? Yes it has.

In the big scheme of things we are a very young country. If humankind had given up every time the ceiling fell in we wouldn’t be here today. We’ve had so many trials and errors in this country‘s history and in the worlds history that to me I think it’s kind of a miracle we’re all here still.

What’s happening today is no news . We did marching with Dr. King in the 60s we did protesting against the validity of the Vietnam war In the end the way the soldiers were treated when they came home was totally inappropriate and unacceptable. How about Kent State? How about the Democratic convention in Chicago with mayor Daley? Protesting is a strong fiber of our countries make up but like so many events after they’re gone they’re forgotten.

And I’m sure you’re familiar with the old refrain remember the past because if you don’t you’ll be doomed to repeat it. Perhaps we should stop ignoring it and start dealing with it? Because if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem and that’s a fact.

We’ve got a long way to go I think we can do it I pray we can do it I have faith that we have a big pie here and there’s enough for everybody if everybody puts their egos aside and gets out of the way. Herd mentality is sometimes better for things other than life stock.

So I apologize for launching on but your comment struck a chord with me mama P. I will not post anything inappropriate photo wise media wise we can rely on the drama drama media for that I will not be part of it but I will express my opinion.

May we find peace in ourselves and then perhaps we can share it with others.

I remember singing that song. And I remember everything you mention in the 60s (I was at the Democratic Convention in Chicago! I remember handing out flowers to police officers, lol.) We seemed to make such good progress in the 60s, so what happened? Are we doomed for every generation to fight the same fight???

Gosh Leigh I wish I knew. Perhaps it is because as a whole we aren’t paying attention or we don’t believe there is a problem.

I think a good example is the devaluation of our generation by a percentage of younger generations is part of it. That attitude will get you nowhere fast.

Well generational “boomer “ name caller bottom line is if your grandparents hadn’t done what they did when it was needed your generation would be /could be lacking a lot of things now including life itself. So get over it and put your abundance of misdirected energy into making the world a better place.
